Sadly, I can not make it to the reunion in November.Ý My wife Debbie and I will have the rare opportunity to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at a friends wedding party at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite.Ý Nah, I¼m not above spending someone elses hard earned dollar! Ý Before I jump into „what¼s up?¾ I want to extend a thank you to all those that have helped out with this reunion.Ý Thank you, and I hope you continue to hold these!Ý Speaking of people working hard on this event, Rick Arroyo and I caught an A¼s game back in May and he¼s put a lot of energy into this.Ý We had a great day together.Ý He¼s full of energy and the years have given him lots of wisdom.Ý Make sure you spend some time with him during the party, and don¼t forget to make your music requests.Ý What would the party be without Frampton, Aerosmith, Elton John, the Ohio Players and Wild Cherry? Ý My life has been great and I live it completely free of regrets.Ý I love my family and friends, my hobbies, and even my work. Ý Peeps- my parents moved out of the Manor in 1990 and are living in Lincoln and Lake Tahoe.Ý Just last weekend my sisters (Laura- 1974 and Linda- 1981) and I were up in Tahoe with my parents.Ý All are doing great.Ý What a place to relax.Ý My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last November and Laura just celebrated her 27th (Jim Lenters- San Leandro High).Ý Linda went through a divorce so we try to spend time as a family as often as we can.Ý My beautiful wife and best friend Debbie has been by my side for 26 years.Ý Her family is even more fun than mine and we are about to celebrate her parents 50th wedding anniversary in September.Ý She and I are culling our braincells, nerves and patience in our efforts to raise three healthy and happy children.Ý Andrew (22) lives at home, works full time and has 10 months to get back to school full-time or move out of the house (tough love).Ý Let¼s just say he¼s not the best housemate, but he¼s up for adoption!Ý Aubrey (20) is at UC Santa Cruz and doing well.Ý She swam and played water polo at Ohlone JC. ÝGotta love that „Middle child¾ ;-)Ý Thea (17) enters her senior year at Washington High School which is the same school that Debbie went to 30 years ago.Ý She plays volleyball, soccer and runs track better than I ever did.Ý Debbie is a high school PE school teacher (Newark) so she enjoys her summers off and has definitely played a bigger role in the development of our kids than I have.Ý Life is good!Ý Oh, the family picure is from Debbie¼s brothers 2nd wedding in October 2005. Ý Play- I coach, promote, officiate, and race bicycles.Ý Road, track, mountain, and åcross.Ý I get the majority of my weekly mileage from commuting to and from work (Fremont-Mountain View) so that gives me a view of our beautiful bay everyday!Ý On the racing front I never would have guessed that I was this competitive since I was pretty much a dork in high school.Ý I love to win races, or help my teammates win.Ý I race for the AMD-Discovery Channel Masters team (www.amdmasters.com which is a retirement home for some of the professional riders) and have thoroughly enjoyed racing all over the United States and in many other countries.Ý In fact, I¼ve won seven UCI Masters World Track Championships and no, I don¼t take „perfomance enhancers¾Ý (ref. 2006 Tour de France, and I have been tested many times).Ý I leave next week for Masters National Championships in Colorado Springs.Ý The race picture is from the Lafayette Crit that I won in July 2006.Ý I also love listening to music, reading, and paying for our home improvements ;-) Ý Paychecks- I graduated from St. Mary¼s College in 1980 (with Rick Glass and Rich Dutra) and have had only five employers (GE, Apple, UB Networks, Adaptec and Duarte Design) since.Ý By choice my career path has taken me to successively smaller companies (Duarte only has 50 employees) but the experiences have been great.Ý In 2001 when I was with Adaptec I was on a business trip in Europe when the Controller was fired for embezzling.Ý I applied for the position and the five Nolan¼s moved to Belgium for a year.Ý What a great experience, personally, professionally and for the family.Ý Since we returned I¼m using my years of experience with finance, human resourses, benefits and facilities in a Controller role.Ý Anyway, I hope to own my own business someday soon, but I haven¼t figured out what it will be.Ý All the same, I know that I¼ll enjoy the journey to get there. I¼m happy to report that my kilometer (1.07.888 or 53.029kph) and my 3km pursuit (3:35.132 or 50.202kph) times for the 2006 AMD-Discovery Masters at USA Track National Championships were both faster than when I was 35 years old!Ý I won both events!
